About Us
United Health Organization (UHO) operates under the belief that optimal health is the right of all individuals and that knowledge helps provide the tools necessary to obtain that right.

Our mission is to improve the health and quality of life in southeast Michigan through the detection of asymptomatic diseases, health education and community engagement.

We further believe that it is UHO’s obligation to help provide the means to obtain and maintain these goals by offering personalized service, effective screening, educational information and community engagement presented in the most culturally sensitive manner possible.
Our History

1967
UHO was founded by the Women of the United Fund (WUF)
​
1968
UHO began offering Health-O-Ramas designed to provide health education and social service information to the public
​
1969
UHO incorporated health screenings into the Health-O-Ramas which continued to grow in scale and offerings
​
1978
WXYZ-TV, the local ABC affiliate became a partner and became instrumental in the promotion and support of the event
​
1999
Health-O-Hamas turns into Project Healthy Living, which is nowadays UHO’s longest running project
​
2010
Radio One and Comcast Cablevision joined as media partners
​
2017
Wayne County Oral Health Coalition (WCOHC) was founded
​
2020
Christ Over COVID and Antibody Prevalence Project (COCAPP) was created​​
