VELISA PERRY
Executive Director
Velisa Perry has been with United Health Organization (UHO) for about 12 years and has been in her current position as Executive Director since 2019. She has been working with the Detroit community since she was a little girl. Her experiences of losing loved ones to preventable diseases have propelled her in her work of centering prevention and knocking down barriers to access.

SEKANI JOHNSON
Assistant Director
He has been in this position since 2019 but has been informally associated with UHO for about 12 years. Sekani provides a generational bridge for UHO, as he is instrumental in reaching the younger generation through relational communication. He leads by the principle that ‘nothing about yourself matters more than the result you’re able to give to your community.

REGINA RICHARSON
Volunteer Program Manager
A devoted mother of two and proud grandmother of four, whose life has been shaped by unwavering dedication to family, community, and professional excellence. In her early years, she helped raise nine of her nieces and nephews, providing a nurturing home before they entered school—ensuring they were cared for without the need for daycare.
Her career began in the banking industry, where she managed high-value transactions and oversaw millions of dollars within casino bank vault operations. Her precision and integrity earned her respect in a high-stakes environment. During this time, Regina also served as a union steward, advocating for workers’ rights and fair treatment—an early sign of her leadership and commitment to equity.
Later, she pursued further education in healthcare, becoming a skilled data biller. Her drive and expertise led her to her current role as Project Manager and Trainer at the United Health Organization. In this role, Regina coordinates the setup of community health displays and leads hands-on training sessions for students. She teaches them how to effectively engage with community members, especially when educating the public about the importance of good oral health. Her work bridges education and outreach, empowering the next generation of health advocates while improving health literacy across Detroit’s diverse communities.
Regina’s journey is a powerful testament to resilience, leadership, and the impact of service—both at home and in the workplace.
